  • Dyke Collective Brighton Manifesto Launch Poster
    The event that this flyer refers to was the launch of The Dyke Collective manifesto on the 24th April 2025, held at Dyke Night, a weekly queer social event at The Actors pub, Brighton. The Brighton Dyke Collective participated in a manifesto-writing workshop with Exploding Appendix in early 2024, and the manifesto was created as a group effort to set the tone for the Collective's future. The event included dykey activities and performances to spread the word that inclusive political action is taking place within the community. Bringing the manifesto launch to this space directly politicised it. The event was designed to celebrate dyke culture with performances, an arm wrestling station, and a table for Queers for Palestine, selling copies of the DC manifesto as part of the regular fundraising effort at the Actors. The manifesto is central to the collective and has inspired lots of dykes to get involved. The DC put these posters all around town, in The Queery, at the Universities, pubs, coffee shops, and bars. The event was a great night, with our Chair MCing, poetry from local dyke poets, music, and a reading of our manifesto to finish the night, read by members of the collective.
  • Dykes on Decks Poster
    Dykes on Decks is an underground electronic music event created in 2022. The event platforms new queer DJs, giving them an opportunity to play their first DJ set out in a club in a supportive, fun and somewhat chaotic environment.
  • Postcard of Eurotour and UK tour against Section 28 archive materials
    Postcard showing four text-based archival materials layered on top of each other. Top left shows a paragraph on white paper reading 'THREE BRITISH LESBIANS, musicians Ann and Debbie and a lesbian activist Miriam, of the Stop the Clause campaign are being held in a Stockholm prison. They are awaiting a date for trial on charges of: Violence against authority, Resisting arrest, Assaulting a police officer. There will be no trial until at least the 28th of November. HEAVY FINES ARE EXPECTED AND THE WOMEN NEED MONEY. They are being kept in solitary confinement and are being refused all visits except by a lawyer. Top right shows a list of names and dates on white paper under the heading 'STOP THE SECTION NATIONAL TOUR DRIVERS AND SPEAKERS'. Bottom right shows a poster on white paper with the logo of a black circle intersected by a black rectangle overlaid with white text reading 'NEVER GOING UNDERGROUND'. Text beneath reads 'STOP BRITISH SECTION 28 ! NORSKE LESBISKE OG HOMOFILE KREVER LOVEN FJERNET !' and further text in Swedish on details of a demonstration. Bottom left shows a pink poster with a black box, inside which text reads 'A YEAR OF LESBIAN & GAY ACTION'.
    Postcard showing archive materials from The Keep related to the Eurotour and UK tour against Section 28, including a campaign against the incarceration of three British lesbian musicians and Stop the Clause activists in a Stockholm prison, and the Never Going Underground campaign. Materials were provided by Melita Dennett. This postcard was produced as part of the Brighton Resists exhibition which ran between March 22nd and April 20th 2017.
